Basic Info BioI write speculative fiction, usually contemporary young adult fantasy. I'm so very small time that I'm barely visible, but I trust that I'm getting somewhere.
On this journal you'll find book reviews, rambling about the writing process, some flailing over fannish things, the odd post about the publishing industry, and occasionally a hint that I live in the real world and have a life of my own. You won't find any fic, because it's all squirreled away at my secret fic journal. Which isn't especially secret, so if you're curious, feel free to drop me a line asking for the username.

Published short stories
I went through a fairly brief period of writing and submitting short stories. They're not my chosen format, but getting to submit things was worth it for a bit.
'Horse of Souls', in Aurealis #38/39, Jan 2008.
Summary: A ghastly horse walks the city after curfew. Nobody meets it and comes away; except, apparently, Lorie's best friend Sean. (Available here.)
'The Keepsake Purse', in TiconderogaOnline, Autumn 2007.
Summary: Rachel gave Liam a purse woven out of her hair. It's black and dead, now, and Liam's fairly sure Rachel's not all right. (You can read the story here.)
'Anything Like Her Photo', in Byzarium Magazine, January 2006. (Flash fiction.)

I'm 25, and I work in a corner of the publishing industry, for a company that gives me far too many free books. I'm also studying a graduate diploma in editing, through night school.
